Report: Dez Bryant promoted again to Baltimore Ravens roster – 247Sports activities

The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly elevating Dez Bryant to the active roster for the second time this season. According to ESPN insider Field Yates, Bryant will be available for the Ravens clash against the Tennessee Titans.

Bryant saw two snaps in his first taste of game action. He was emotional about the opportunity to take the field with the Ravens. This week, Ravens offensive coordinator Gregg Roman noted that Bryant was making progress in picking up the offense.

Roman noted that Bryant could work into a viable role for the remainder of the season. Should he officially be activated on Sunday, the Ravens will have to make a decision on whether to keep him on the active roster moving forward.

“Dez is doing a good job, he’s really getting caught up,” Roman told local reporters via Pro Football Talk. “He’s working hard at practice, in meetings. It’s good to have him on board. Keep working and we’ll see where that leads moving forward. I don’t think there’s any real timeline right now, but I do think that if Dez keeps progressing he will definitely become a factor in what we do.”

Bryant has 531 catches in his NFL career. He turned those receptions into 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns. His biggest skill is the ability to create plays in open space. Bryant is a good route runner and has displayed his talent in practice.

He caught the attention of Ravens star Lamar Jackson. The reigning NFL MVP is ready to develop on-field chemistry this week.

“Oh man, he’s a great route runner,” Jackson said. “He has strong hands. He’s dialed in into the playbook; he’s always asking me questions about the playbook – stuff like that. He wants to compete. I just can’t wait until he gets out there with us on Sundays and fully practices with us.”

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh agrees. He said that the Ravens will have a plan for Bryant as he stays on the roster.

“When we feel like he’s ready to come up, in shape, knows the offense well enough, has enough compatibility with Lamar on enough plays then we’ll bring him up. When it happens, I think it’ll happen. I don’t think it’s something you want to force-feed in there. It’s something we’ll have to see as we go.”

The Ravens are 6-3 and look to keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North division. The Titans are also in a tight playoff race as well. Both teams will need this victory to continue their ascent up the AFC standings.
