Letter: Howard County Faculty Board ought to give attention to what's greatest for college kids, not politics. READER COMMENTS – Baltimore Solar.

Prior to the recent reallocation, the board paid large sums of money to counselors who interviewed the community and reported on the priorities of Howard County's parents. The vast majority wanted community-based schools, minimal commute times, and a consistent and predictable delivery system. In a growing county it would be difficult to set these priorities for all children, but the board didn't even try and instead did just the opposite. This appeared to be driven by political concerns and it was very disheartening to see the extent to which politicians and political clubs provided funding, endorsements and other support to some candidates.
