Grey Seal Pup Eloise rescued, rehabilitation on the Nationwide Aquarium in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Meet Eloise!

The seal pup, less than a month old, was rescued from Cape Henlopen, Delaware on February 12. On February 14, she was taken to the National Aquarium Animal Care and Rescue Center.

The aquarium's animal health and rescue teams found that Eloise was malnourished with a few cuts on her neck, but said she quickly moved on to the next step in her rehabilitation.

They said that since she is so young, she is still considered a "maternal dependent puppy," which means that in her natural habitat she would have to rely on her mother for milk. Because of this, her rehabilitation focuses on teaching her how to eat fish – which she reportedly excelled.
