BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Baltimore City Schools announced Friday that more than 1,200 employees have signed up to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations.
The school system said almost everyone who signed up is on the way to being vaccinated by the end of next week, with the possibility of a small number of those dates falling in the following week.
“I am very pleased with the early response. We have put in place solid health and safety measures to facilitate face-to-face learning and vaccination of staff is another step in the process, ”said Dr. Sonja Santelises, CEO of City Schools.
On Monday, January 18, City Schools and Johns Hopkins Medicine announced a collaboration to vaccinate nearly 500 teachers and school staff who are already working in personal learning venues on a weekly basis.
