Known as "Busta", Ball was only 43 years old.

CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE:

“He went to the hospital more than once. People need to understand, if you are off your deathbed and have breathing problems, they are sending you home, ”Johnson said.

Ball had a basic condition. He suffered from diabetes.

“He had part of his foot amputated. He's had multiple surgeries, so his body just wasn't ready to fight COVID. He tried to fight it, but it was just too much, ”said his cousin. “He loved Baltimore and left a legacy. We will miss him. "

The two made several videos together.

“He did his best to make a difference. I consider him one of those educators who do their best to influence the future, ”said Johnson.

Family members set up a GoFundMe that raised more than $ 4,000 for Ball's funeral expenses.

"There is nothing we can do to bring him back," said Brian Henderson, another relative who started the fundraiser. “For those out there wondering what COVID has done to many of these communities, the evidence is right here. I mean, you just see a guy like Busta being taken away from us. 2020 was vicious. "
