Baltimore County Faculties present day by day updates on "Catastrophic" ransomware cyberattacks

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) – The Baltimore County Schools announced Friday that they plan to provide daily updates at 4:00 p.m. about a "catastrophic" ransomware cyberattack that closed schools on Wednesday.

"Our technology and other headquarters teams have been working for the past few days to combat this catastrophic attack on our technology system," tweeted the school system. "Unfortunately, we are limited in our statements due to ongoing investigations at the federal, state and local levels."

“However, we plan to post updates at 4:00 p.m. every day. Please keep in mind that we cannot answer every question during this time of investigation, ”they added.

Baltimore County Schools would like to remind everyone not to use their BCPS accounts, devices or systems until further notice.
