A 17-year-old boy was shot dead in West Baltimore Thursday afternoon, police said.
City police said the officers responded around 3:16 p.m. to a ShotSpotter alarm. Police said officers found the teenage boy with gunshot wounds in the 1900 block of McHenry Street.
The boy was taken to a hospital for immediate surgery. His condition was not immediately released.
Police said detectives learned that the victim was leaving a grocery store on West Pratt Street's 2000 block when two people approached and shot him.
